Sumanth New Telugu Film Golconda High School Movie Review:

Story:
A famous school Golconda High School is going through financial problems to run it. One of the directors of the trustee that runs the school comes with plan - to convert the vast land of play ground into a commercial building and set up a coaching center there. The principal of the school (Tanikella) opposes this idea put forth by the director (Subbaraju). The principle believes that play ground is important for kids for their holistic education. And he brings in ex-student and former cricketer Sampath (Sumanth) to train the school's cricket team so that they could excel in sports and bring back the glory to the school. Sumanth takes the challenge of board directors that if the school's cricket team wins in the coming inter-school championships, the playground wouldn't be touched upon. So how this coach will train the boys who never won a single mach and turn them into champions? That is the rest of the story.

Artist PerFormance:
Sumanth comes up with his career best performance as coach Sampath in this movie. It is an idealistic and inspiring character. Sumanth’s diction, expressions and body language suited it really well. Sumanth is the right choice for this movie. Swati’s role is not connected with the main story line. If she looked like a playful teen in her earlier movies, Swati is looking like a woman in this movie with sarees and demure performance. Subaraju has a towering screen presence and he proves again his capability as an actor with this movie. In all his earlier movies, Shafi used to dominate the character. He played this character within the boundaries in GHS and he is highly impressive. Tanikella Bharani is excellent. Ravi Prakash is authentic. Though all the seasoned actors performed exceedingly well, it is the kids who are stars of this movie. All the kids who acted as students are extremely natural. Santosh and Sangeet (both of them are sons of late director Sobhan Babu) have acted as Gowtam and Varun. Santosh’s performance is intense. Varun is very cute. Srinivas Sai (who acted as kid Nagarjuna in Kedi) is terrific as hot-blooded youngster. Farooq who played the role of Micky is genuine and effective. Lalith who played the role of sardarji keeper is very good with his performance. I don’t know the names of other kids. But the all the students are perfectly cast. The old man who did the role of attendant is perfect.

Technical and other Departments:

Top cinematographer Senthil has once again proved that he can give best results to even low-budgeted film. His frames and lighting have gelled with the story. His brilliance is clearly visible in capturing the Cricket game. Editing by Sravan is smooth but he should have cut away some scenes in the first half to speed up the narration. Talented Kalyani Malik once again comes up with innovative tunes - the duet shot on Sumanth and Swathi - is one of best melodies in the recent times. And Vittanam Sarikottaga Molakottutunna Vainam is equally good. Director Indraganti Mohan Krishna proves with the film that he's one of the most sensible directors in Telugu. This reviewer has not seen his Ashta Chemma but after Grahanam, he has shown his mark with this film again.

Analysis:
Ram Mohan (Art Beat Capital) who produced comedy like Ashta Chemma as his first venture made a brave decision when wanted to make an idealistic and inspiring sports-based movie. The credit for this movie should go to him. Because of the freedom given by the producer, Mohan Krishna Indraganti could able to come with a neat product. All the cast and crew complemented each other’s work. There is an underlying message in the movie to the parents and students. At the same time, the entertainment quotient is intact. GHS might not have regular commercial elements, but has enough content in the movie to make you glued to the screen. On a whole, Golkonda High School is a different yet enjoyable film. You may watch it at your leisure.

Final View:
Golconda High School is good movie and clean movie. The team should be commended for its effort but it doesn't inspire you. The movie may connect with niche audiences, the film is interesting flick. If more emotional and motivational elements added, the film could have been better. On the whole, it turns out be to be a film that can be watched for once.
