Jail Hindi Movie Review

Story:

The exterior façade of Central Jail has been a significant setting in Hindi films with characters making exit from it for years now. But beyond that, Bollywood has had quite a conventional portrayal of the prison. Madhur Bhandarkar’s depiction of Jail goes beyond the clichéd images of chakki-peesing prisoners and convicts rupturing rocks in films. But then again the film lacks the Bhandarkar brand of shocking eye-openers. well coming in to story .
Parag Dixit (Neil Mukesh) is leading a perfect life with a decent job and a loving girlfriend Maansi (Mughda Godse). Until one day when he is falsely implicated in a drug case and lands behind bars. Life changes overnight for him as he is exposed to an entirely new environment where he is supposed to survive while his case continues getting postponed in the court of law. Life expectedly is difficult inside the jail where he makes new friends including a convict warder Nawab (Manoj Bajpai) and Ghani (Rahul Singh) while living on hopes that he would be bailed out of the mess.

Movie Analysis:
Most Madhur Bhandarkar films work on two levels. Firstly while unveiling the harsh less-known realities behind his chosen sphere of interest. Secondly how his protagonist reacts to these realities, resulting into the shaping of story and character conflicts. In Jail , he falls short on detailing the internal intricacies of imprisonment and the story gets slack with no distinctive graph to the character conflicts.
The writing by Madhur Bhandarkar, Manoj Tyagi and Anuradha Tiwari is genuine in terms of representing life inside jail. Barracks are crammed with convicts beyond its capacity, cops are bribed by prisoners, underworld operates even from inside, inmates indulge in homosexuality and doctors provisionally bail out detainees to government hospitals. But come to think of it, with the prison premise being so often exploited in films, most of it is common knowledge to the audience unlike Bhandarkar brand of shocking revelations.
Coming to the graph of the narrative, the plot is flatly reduced to Parag’s pursuit for freedom which tends of get repetitive after a point with no ups and downs to the drama. The end is all the more convenient thereby denying the film a basic climax. That confines Jail to the feel of an extended documentary and the emotional connect isn’t as poignant as films in similar setup of lockup like Nagesh Kukunoor’s Teen Deewarien or the small film from across the border Ramchand Pakistani . Even Sridhar Raghavan’s Ek Hasina Thi that wasn’t essentially centered on the prison exploited the jail setting more effectively.
A major highlight of Madhur movies is the interesting array of supporting characters that he employs to good effect. Jail doesn’t score high even on that note though it had tremendous scope to have an assortment of side-characters. There is the clichéd covetous criminal lawyer, a jailor constrained by higher authorities, a convict bores with his constant commentary of shayaris , another predicts future and so on but none amuse. The warder Nawab’s soft corner-at-first-sight for Parag appears too fake and filmi. Also Nawab’s flashback account appears too formulaic. The initial reel that Madhur squanders on Neil-Mughda’s intimacy could have been rather utilized to portray Parag’s upper crust lifestyle thereby serving as a subsequent contrast to his imprisoned life.
The unsuspecting average man characterization of Parag Dixit who lands up in unexpected trouble makes you relate to the protagonist for his vulnerability. Neil Mukesh does a decent job as the helpless victim though he occasionally struggles in emotional outbursts. Manoj Bajpai is restrained as compared to his other recent acts and plays his part perfectly. Rahul Singh is effective though his character is short-lived. Arya Babbar and Chetan Pandit are passable. Mughda Godse doesn’t have much to do.

Final View:
Compare Jail to Madhur Bhandarkar’s earlier works and you would be disappointed to a degree. Nevertheless, compare it to many other mediocre movies of today and Jail is still a step ahead.
Jail is captivating but not consistently.

Story and Review:

Ranbir and katrina combination seems to be not worked that big in this film. it is mixed talk movie. this film was not reached the expetation of the audience. well coming in to ajab prem ki ghazab kahani story.Prem's (Ranbir Kapoor) fundas in life were very simple - be happy...make others happy...keep the town happy... But these supposedly simple fundas usually results in disastrous consequences for Prem, the members of his Happy Club, and the town!
It may have been a case of mistaken identity that led Prem to kidnap Jenny (Katrina Kaif). And it was sheer greed that made Prem try to pull a fast one over her father. As for sweet and simple Jenny, brought up by indifferent and uncaring foster parents, all she longed was to love and be loved in return.
And it was love and only love for Jenny that made Prem turn over a new leaf. From hardly working vagabond he began working hard to make money... From a besotted Romeo, he becomes a mature and thoughtful Majnu who put Jenny's happiness above everything else...As for Jenny...she was so much in love with the idea of being in love that she was blinded by the reality that was staring in her face...

The true love that was Prem...

after watching this u can feel like prem.

London Dreams Film Review

London Dreams Story:

Arjun (Ajay Devgan) and Mannu (Salman Khan) are childhood buddies in Punjab. Its Arjun's dream to become the best desi rock singer in London. Mannu is extremely talented with no lofty goals. Arjun goes to London during his teenage and pursues his dreams by starting a rock band called 'London Dreams'. Arjun falls in love with his colleague Priya (Asin). But Arjun wants to give priority to his work and success and delays proposing to her. Meanwhile, Arjun flies Mannu from his village to London and makes him a member in his band. Mannu falls in love with Priya. Mannu is also so much talented that he starts hogging the limelight in the concerts. Arjun gets jealous as Mannu takes away his girl and his dream. The rest of the story is all about how the pangs of jealously in Arjun prompt him to betray Mannu.

Artist Performance:

Ajay Devgan is very good in the role that has grey shades. Salman Khan wins you over with the portrayal of charming innocence. Asin did the role of a madarasi girl settled in London. She is cute and suited the role. Om Puri has a brief role. VJs Rannvijay Singh and Aditya Roy Kapoor are good as pakistani musicians.

Story - screenplay - direction:

The basic story of the movie is inspired by the Hollywood flick Amadeus (1984), which is a fictional subject on the life story of music wizard Mozart. The narrative pattern is also inspired by this movie. In Amadeus, Salieri narrates the story of Mozart to a doctor in a Mental Asylum in flashback mode. In London Dreams, Ajay Devgan narrates the story to the audiences in flashback mode. Both Ajay Devgan and Selieri are passionate and completely dedicated to the music. But they are not naturally gifted with the music talent and they blame the God for it. It is also a story of love and hatred where hatred takes over love. Direction of the film is good. But the screenplay goes little haywire in the second half. The acts/methods of Ajay Devgan to sabotage Salman Khan in the second half makes us feel uncomfortable. The movie gets dull and little boring towards the latter half of the second half. However, a populist yet natural climax makes it up for the boredom in the second half.

Other technical departments:

Music by Shankar - Ehsaan - Loy is excellent. The background music and re-recording for the live shows give us the an authentic feel of a live concert. Cinematography by Sejal Shah is splendid. Dialogues are good. This film is made on huge scale and and it can be observed on the screen.

Analysis:

This film is about friendship, jealousy followed by betrayal. First half of the movie is entertaining. Second half is serious and the tempo goes down in latter part (drug abuse and sabotage). Climax is nice. Plus points of the film are Salman Khan, music and the making standards. London Dreams is a reasonable adaptation of 'Amadeus'. On a whole, London Dreams make a decent watch.

Final View:

In times when most films are turning out to be nightmares, London Dreams is a decent entertainer and has its heart at the right place. For its wonderful performances, rocking music and terrific chemistry between Salman and Ajay Devgn, London Dreams is worth a watch.

EK NIRANJAN MOVIE REVIEW

Ek Niranjan telugu Movie Review :

Ek Niranjan Story :
well coming in to story Chotu (Prabhas) is born to poor parents. A beggars mafia guy steals Chotu to make him a beggar. Chotu grows up as an informer to the cops. And he calls himself as 'bounty hunter'. His duty is to catch the criminals on behalf of police and earn some money from the cops for doing their duty. He falls in love with a guitar music teacher Sameera (Kangana Raunat) and her brother happens to be a mafia guy whom Chotu is entrusted to nab. Johnny (Sonu Sood) is a mafia kingpin in the city. The rest of the story is all about what happens when Johnny encounters Chotu and when Chotu has multiple responsibility of apprehending and saving the same guy.

Artists Performance:
Prabhas's characterization in this movie is an extention of his character in Puri Jagan's Bujjigadu - made in Chennai. Prabhas is adorable with his mass language with godavari dialect. He is charming with his carefree demeanor. Kangana Raunat who looked fabulous in Hindi flicks like Gangster and Fashion seemed out of place in this Telugu film. She is just average. Sonu Sood walks away with honors, thanks to terrific characterization by Puri Jagan. He played the role of a sadistic villain and entertains us with funny dialogues. Brahmaji did another terrific character in this movie after his cameo in Athadu film. The pair of Sonu Sood and Brahmaji is hilarious. Brahmanandam's comedy in not upto the mark. Ali is wasted as a magician in 'Jack Sparrow' get-up. Venu Madhav and Sunil characters are partly entertaining. Posani Krishna Murali provides humor as a cunning politician. Mukul Dev and Tanikella Bharani are adequate. The kid who did the mimicry is good. Makrand Deshpande suited the role well and he adds value to the movie. Half of his dialogues are in written in Hindi for his convenience.

Technical departments :
Story - screenplay - directon: Story of the movie is about a son in search of his parents. The characterization of Prabhas is extended from their last movie Bujjigadu and you can see some shades of Pokiri in this movie too. Direction by Puri Jagan is good. But the screenplay should have been better in the second half. The characterizations of villain and hero are good. And there is nice confrontation scenes between them. Puri Jagan who has shown promise in the first half of the movie couldn't carry the same element of interest in the second half. The last twenty minutes of the movie is a downer. I liked the point at which he closed the movie instead of showing some routine and dramatic reunion in the end.
Music by Mani Sharma is very good. All songs are canned well on the screen. The title song Ek Niranjan is excellent. Evaru Lerani song is very good. There is a tribute to Michael Jackson in the last song of the movie. This song is nicely edited with some rare footage of MJ. Dialogues by Puri Jagan deserves a special appreciation. The dialogues penned for Prabhas and Sonu Sood are excellent. The dialogues before 'evaru lerani' song (heroine proposal scene) are really good. Puri Jagan has made it a habit to make heroine call hero 'naa kodaka' in his recent movies. Cinematography by Shyam K Naidu is nice. Editing by Varma is adequate. Fights are good. The climax fight should have been impact-making.

Analysis:

First half of the movie is entertaining. Second half is also adequate but for the last twenty minutes. The graph of the movie goes down from the time the story shifts to Bangkok. The plus points are Prabhas, dialogues and music. On the flip side the second half should have been better and the violence should have been toned down. On a whole, Ek Niranjan is a not a bad film. We have to wait and see how the masses receive it .

Final view:

Ek Niranjan is just an okay film. It can be time pass film. Manisharma’s songs are good to hear but they are not that effective on screen. Shaam K Naidu’s cinematography looks richer. Editing by M.R.Verma is not upto standard. Puri Jaganandh once again scores as dialogue writer than director. But it is the time that he should re-check at his selection of scripts. After Pokiri, he has not come up with film that can make him proud or make audiences feel satisfied.
